This sub-type of Imaging Event contains additional properties applicable when the subject of the study is a sample taken from the Patient rather than the Patient him/herself. For example, a mass of tissue may be extracted from the patient and sent to the radiology department for an assessment of whether that mass may be cancerous. This class contains information concerning any stain technique used, and the magnification used to produce the image. In addition, properties of the specimen itself are referenced. Note that as a sub-type of Imaging Event, Specimen Imaging Event includes all of the properties of Imaging Event, including the Study, Series, and Image classes.
